How to cite sources:
Source citation is an important part of any paper that uses outside resources. There are many ways an instructor might want a student want to cite their sources. Some citation formats include MLA (Modern Language Association), APA (American Psychological Association), and Turabian.
Most citation styles tend to use both in-text citation and a works cited page. If a format includes both a works cited page and in-text citation and a student does not include both, the student is plagiarizing.
There are plenty of guides to explain formatting; one of the most used seems to be OWL Purdue. You can find their citation guide here.
There are also different types of citation software available. If a student uses citation software, he/she/they must check to make sure that the citations are correct.
One excellent example of this software is Zotero. Zotero is free to download, easy to use, and extremely safe. You can download Zotero here.
